Alex Morgan is a forward in every aspect of her life.
One of the world’s greatest athletes, the two-time World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist has made her mark on the field as an inspiring team leader and an explosive forward. It’s a position that relies both on instinct and strategy – where seeking out opportunity and taking action can make a difference in the moment and outcome of the game.
That balancing act has influenced Alex’s movements off the field as well. A fierce advocate for equality and reform, Alex has spent her career championing girls and women in sports.
In 2016, alongside five of her teammates from the US Women’s National Team, she filed an EEOC complaint over inequality in pay and treatment in US women’s soccer. In 2022, the results of that filing required men and women to be paid an equal rate for all friendlies and tournaments, including the World Cup.
This historic win helped to fuel Alex’s passion for change on a cultural level, inspiring her support of other female athletes, teams, and organizers fighting for equal pay and safer work environments.
Playing while raising her daughter, Charlie, has ignited that passion even more. In February 2023, Alex broke the USWNT record for most goals scored as a mom and in March, launched the Alex Morgan Foundation to build a more equitable and empowered future not only for her daughter, but all girls everywhere.
Her forward-thinking ability is at the heart of the foundation, where strategy and action will help provide powerful opportunities for girls and women. It’s a natural move for someone who has become a seasoned professional of making an impact, giving future generations the support to find their own confident path forward.
